Welcome to my web page. I hope that you enjoy this journey with me.

As many of you know, I am fond of movie quotes, and use them frequently. So, to paraphrase Ray Kinsela from the movie Field of Dreams “I’m 61 years old, and until I decided to do THE RIDE, I’d never done a crazy thing in my life”, well almost.

Anybody who has ever ridden with me more than once-or maybe even once-has heard me speak about riding across America. It seems to blend many of the things that are a part of who I am-my riding, my desire to push myself to take on a huge challenge, my love of American History, and my curiosity to better understand what the heartland of America is all about. I can think of no better way to experience this than on a a bicycle traveling at 15 miles an hour.

Finally, after having this at times chimera-like dream on the horizon, this is the year. From Mid June through early August, I will be taking a sabbatical from work, home, and family, and setting off to fulfill this dream of mine, Riding Across America.

But, in addition to letting you know where I am, and posting photos of the AMAZING parts of America that I will be riding in, there is an equally important aspect to this ride, raising money for Charity. There are two organizations that I am hoping to raise LOTS of money for, so please go to the Donate section, and please give generously.

If you wish, you can get e-mail notification of my posts while on the ride. To do this, go to the blog subscription spot.

Hope you enjoy this journey with me. So sit back and enjoy the ride while I cycle across the United States.

See you on the road.
